International Prix CICT-ICFT UNESCO Delmiro De Caralt
UNICA. 18-24 August 2024, Poznan. ​

At the 84th Congress and Festival in Poznan (18-24 August 2024), the international CICT-ICFT UNESCO Delmiro de Caralt prize was awarded to an Austrian film ‘Land of Mine’ by Helmut Schwarz. This documentary tackles the subject of landmines in general and in Bosnia-Herzegovina in particular, based on a project by Bosnian artist Irena Pejcic.​​

The 36th edition of Eurovisioni, the International Festival of Cinema and Television, just ended at the Academy of France in Rome, at Villa Medici. During the International Day, the urgency for Europe to adopt its regulation on Artificial Intelligence, which has been under discussion for months between Parliament, the Commission and the Member States, was discussed.

83rd UNICA Annual
Meeting 2023
Comacchio, the "little Venice" nestling in the Po delta, hosted UNICA's 83rd annual meeting this year. 81 films were in competition; 21 were awarded medals, including 4 gold and 6 silver. In addition, 17 films took part in the Minute Film Competition. The CICT Delmiro de Caralt International Prize was awarded to the Spanish film "Differ3nt" by Claudia Bolte. This was the 23rd UNESCO Fellini Medal to be awarded to UNICA since 1999.
35th CICT UNESCO "Enrico Fulchignoni" Award
"Io capitano" by Matteo Garrone won the 35th edition of the CICT UNESCO "Enrico Fulchignoni" Award.
Considered the most significant cinematographic acknowledgement awarded by the Conseil International du Cinéma et de la Télévision CICT ICFT at UNESCO, the prize is awarded to the movie presented at the Venice International Film Festival which best embodies the values of peace, tolerance and inclusion promoted by UNESCO

CICAE Call For Applications: Renowned Arthouse Cinema Training Finds New Home in Berlin
For the first time, Berlin will host the international Arthouse Cinema Training from 30 October to 5 November 2023. The only programme of its kind worldwide, the ACT gathers independent arthouse cinema professionals from across the globe for a week-long intensive workshop on running an arthouse movie theatre and advancing film culture.

11th International Film Festival of Algiers - FICA
After two years of absence due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Algiers International Film Festival (FICA), dedicated to committed film, is back. From December 2 to 10, 2022, Algerian moviegoers were invited to attend various screenings in five spaces in the capital. Since 2018 CICT-ICFT has been present at FICA awarding its Internal Prize with UNESCO's Gandhi Medal.

In line with the principles of UNESCO and the UN that have always directed the thread of the activities promoted by the CICT-ICFT, the XXIV Euro-Mediterranean Conference and its eminent speakers wants to verify conditions and prospects of collaboration and active participation between the territories of film communication and those of digital communication to ensure that a creative synthesis can merge the real to the virtual so to inspire the new Digital Society to be more creative and inclusive for all.

22nd INFOPOVERTY WORLD CONFERENCE
How could the Digital Citizen, with her rights and duties, build a fairer digital society? This is the focus of the 22nd Infopoverty World Conference launched in this moment of great fragility due to pandemics, wars and climate crises that must be necessarily faced with the awareness of great risks for our civilization. Planned for December, 1, this year edition wants to investigate the unit of the Digital Society, namely the Digital Citizen.

UNICA 2022
21 - 25 août 2022
L'UNICA renoue avec son traditionnel rendez-vous annuel qui se déroulera cette année à Locarno, en Suisse, du 21 au 25 août 2022. A noter que le congrès de l'UNICA s'est tenu chaque année depuis la création de l'UNICA en 1937. Une centaine de courts-métrages seront en compétition, avec un maximum de quarante minutes et quatre films par fédération nationale. Comme chaque année depuis 1999, un prix du CICT sera mis à disposition du jury pour honorer un film témoignant des valeurs de tolérance et de paix portées par l'UNESCO.
FIFOG 2022
du 13 au 19 Juin
La 17ème édition du Festival International du Film Oriental de Genève (FIFOG) aura lieu du 13 au 19 juin à Genève et au sein de ses communes. Après avoir célébré la Résistance en 2020 et l’Espoir en 2021, la cuvée 2022 met à l’honneur la Liberté…au féminin. À travers cette thématique, il ne s’agit pas uniquement de mettre en valeur la femme, mais surtout de célébrer la douce liberté, l’exquise vie et le magique 7ème art qui transportent à la fois les femmes et les hommes.

L’UNESCO a publié en octobre 2021 un rapport sur l’industrie cinématographique et audiovisuelle en Afrique offrant des données statistiques et des informations fiables permettant de mieux appréhender les défis et les besoins du secteur. Ce Rapport propose également une feuille de route pour accompagner les États africains dans l’élaboration et la mise en oeuvre de politiques adéquates afin de développer cette industrie d’une façon durable.

25th UN-Commission on Science and Technology
From March 28 to March 31 OCCAM, the President a.i of the CICT was invited to participate and intervene at the 25th Commission on Science and Technology for Development held in room XVIII at the Palais des Nations in Geneve. The United Nations Commission on Science and Technology for Development (CSTD) discusses how the digital revolution and the new communication channels affect development and offers new strategies in view of a sustainable future for all.

The ICFT-UNESCO Gandhi Medal at the 52nd IFFI Goa, 2021
The CICT-ICFT awarded its prize with the UNESCO Gandhi Medal at the closing ceremony of the 52nd International Film Festival of India, Goa (IFFI), November 20-28, 2021, to the film Lingui the Sacred Bonds by Mahamat-Saleh Haroun (Chad).

The name FESPACO (Pan-African Film & TV Festival of Ouagadougou) refers to two separate entities which are the Institution and the Festival. Known as the “General Delegation of FESPACO”, the institution is the legal organizing and management body of the biennial event called FESPACO.
